The Danes are silent in general, especially if I compare myself with them, even with us in general, Latinos.
Comparing is inevitable. As a South American, who has also lived in Spain for many years, the mother region of the Latin language, I can assure you that we Latinos usually speak out loud, it is a general characteristic of us.
Sometimes I have to think twice before opening my mouth since I need to be sure of the volume of my voice. Also, the Danish language is slower than the Spanish language.
When you are on the bus, subway, or train, everyone respects silence, or at least keeps their speech low, just as they are careful not to make a fuss with their bicycle or luggage.
I have grown up in a family, where whoever spoke loudest was who others listened to. Unfortunately, we lacked a good sense of listening.
So, you can imagine how difficult it has been for me to adjust the volume of my voice.
Although I found it difficult to connect, I appreciate this characteristic of them.
I do not miss the noise from the street, cars, or buses, even from many voices at the same time, as in the busiest cities.
Silence is a good friend of reflection, also of relaxation, for mental well-being.
A contemplative state of mind requires silence, or a peaceful sound of water or wind, the singing of birds. Only the natural sound of the environment is grateful.
A peaceful state of mind requires a suitable environment, an ideal context.
Let's enjoy a minute of silence together.
Did you enjoy it?
I also did.
